LISBON — Voters on Tuesday approved the school budget and decided to continue the budget referendum process.

The $14,306,850 school spending plan was accepted by a vote of 325-141. The extension of the budget referendum won 375-89.

Also winning approval was a lease-purchase of a new sewer vacuum truck not to exceed $315,000. It will replace a 12-year-old truck. The vote was 282-182.

A total of 467 of the town’s 6,596 registered voters turned out for the school budget validation referendum Tuesday, approving by a vote of 325-141 a $14,306,850 school budget as adopted by the town council in May. Residents by a wide margin voted 375-89 to continue the referendum process in future years.

Also approved by a vote of 282-182 was the lease-purchase of a new sewer vacuum truck at a cost not to exceed $315,000. It will replace a 12-year-old truck.
