This year for Father’s Day, wouldn’t it be nice to cook something special for Dad? There’s just one problem. You don’t know how to cook. For those of you out there who are somewhat challenged in the kitchen, how about giving these snacks a go?
Cheese, Bacon & Potato Tart
1 T. butter
18 slices bacon
1-1/2 lb. potatoes, peeled and sliced
1-1/4 c. shredded Fontina cheese
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Butter an 8-inch round baking dish and arrange bacon on bottom, bringing it up the sides and draping it over the edges. Arrange 1/3 of the potatoes on top of the bacon. Sprinkle 1/3 of the cheese on top of the potatoes. Create two more layers of potatoes and cheese. With the last layer, fold the overhanging bacon across the top. Bake uncovered for 1 hour, or until potatoes are cooked.
Cheese & Crackers
Crackers
American cheese slices, cut into triangles
Red or green bell pepper
Pepperoni
Scallions
Yellow mustard
Top a cracker with a triangle of cheese to create the shape of a shirt. Add the shirt details using the peppers and pepperoni. Create the buttons with thinly sliced scallions or dots of yellow mustard.
