WINTERHAVEN, Fla. — David Alan Watkins, 67, passed away, June 17, at Winterhaven Hospital from complications of cancer.
He was born May 2, 1946, in Gray, son of Eleanor and J. Willis Watkins. He attended Windham High School and graduated in 1964. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served for four years.
He worked for the Federal Reserve Bank as a manager of check processing. It was here that he met his wife, Carol. They were happily married for 31 years. He retired from the FRB after more than 25 years of service. He loved golfing and water skiing as well as snowmobiling and boating.
Dave is survived by his wife, Carol Watkins of Turner; his daughter, Melissa Fowlie-Louden of Temecula, Calif.; his son, David Watkins of Tucson, Ariz.; his stepsons, Raymond Williams of Sabattus and David Williams of Southwick, Mass.; his son-in-law, Joe Zielinski; his sisters, Donna Luce of Salem, S.C., Kim Stevens of Raymond and Joan Rogers of Windham; and 15 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his mother, Eleanor Watkins; father, J. Willis Watkins; his stepchildren, Dianne Zielinski and Mark Williams; and grandchild, Rachel Williams.
