1929 – 2013

AUBURN — Nancy B. Danforth, 83, a resident of Friendship Lane, Farmingdale, died June 22 at Hospice House of Androscoggin.

She was born Dec. 2, 1929, in Falmouth, the daughter of John D. and Angie Wilson Bell. Nancy attended schools in Woodhaven, N.Y.

On May 14, 1948, in Litchfield, Nancy and Ernest Danforth were married; they celebrated 65 years of marriage in May. Nancy was a homemaker and a wonderful mom to her four sons. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Litchfield.

Because her father worked for the VA hospitals, they lived in many cities on the East Coast, some being White River Junction, Vt., Brooklyn, N.Y., and Pittsburgh, Pa.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest Danforth of Farmingdale; four sons, David Danforth and wife, Karla, of Hollywood, Fla., Arnold Danforth of Litchfield, Steven Danforth and companion, Debbie Pelletier, of Monmouth, and Brad Danforth and companion, Agnes Bean, of Gardiner; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her mother and father; her sisters, Elizabeth and Joanne; a brother, Lawrence; and an infant brother, Bertrand.
