LEWISTON — The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce will host a public seminar titled “So You Want to Be a Landlord” from 8 a.m. to noon July 13 at the chamber office, 415 Lisbon St.
John Snyder of On the Spot Property Management will be the presenter.
The session will help people interested in real estate investing to learn more about the ins and outs of being a landlord, determine if they have the right personality to manage tenants and buildings every day, and decide whether they want to go this route to develop a passive income or retirement nest egg.
Among the topics to be covered are: pitfalls before and after a tenant signs a lease; elements of a good lease; protecting yourself and your tenants; rules and regulations landlords must be aware of, lead paint, carbon monoxide, Section 8 and many other issues.
