FARMINGTON — A summer race to benefit the Mt. Blue High School cross country team is planned for the last Friday of July.
Formerly the 5K Run and Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run, held during the downtown Summerfest, will return this summer as the Spandits!
Registration for the races begins at 4:30 p.m., July 26, in front of Outskirts Vintage Clothing on Upper Broadway. Registration fee for the 5K is $20. The Kids’ One-Mile entry fee is $8.
The one-mile race starts at 5:30, and the 5K begins at 6:15 p.m.
Race T-shirts will go to the first 100 finishers of the 5K and to the first three finishers in each age category of the one-mile race.
A raffle and massage by Serenity Holistic Massage, a new offering this year, will also take place. Pies and baked goods will be available.
The cross country team hopes to eventually raise enough money to construct a new course for the teams to use at Mt. Blue High School.
