LIVERMORE — A section of Route 108 was closed to traffic Wednesday night after water from the nearby river washed across the roadway.
At about 10 p.m., Androscoggin County Sheriff’s officials said an area between South and River roads would likely remain closed overnight.
It was not immediately clear if the road itself was damaged. The washout affected a stretch known as both Howes Corner Road and Boothby Road.
Motorists were advised to take alternate routes if their travels would take them through that section.
