LUBEC (AP) — Police are investigating a double stabbing at a Lubec bar in which one victim almost had his nose cut off.

Police said it started with an argument at Phinney’s Bar just before midnight Wednesday.

Two men got into a fight and one was stabbed.

Police told WABI-TV (http://bit.ly/18Awx60) that a second man almost had has nose cut off when he tried to intervene.

Both men were taken to Down East Community Hospital in Machias.

Police said 42-year-old Peter Lyons of Trescott is charged with aggravated assault.
