AUBURN — Bertrand L. Geoffroy, 87, of 440 Minot Ave., Auburn, formerly of Middle Road, Sabattus, passed away Tuesday, July 9, at Clover Manor.

He was born in Quebec City, P.Q., Canada, July 2, 1926, son of the late Luc Romeo “Joseph” and Lucienne Boulais Geoffroy. He was married Nov. 6, 1946 to Annette Fournier, who predeceased him Feb. 10, 2000. He later married Fernande Galipeau Krefetz, who predeceased him April 12, 2011.

He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Alfred Dumais then at W.E. Cloutier and retired from Blue Rock Industries as a superintendent.

Bert was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and the Club Richeleau. He enjoyed landscaping, tending to his flower and vegetable garden, golfing and was an accomplished artist.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Tremblay and husband, Roger, of Sabattus and Sandra Tremblay and husband, Marcel, of Turner; five sons, Bertrand R. and wife, Ann, of Throop, Pa., Ronald and wife, Nancy, of Lewiston, Daniel and wife, Cindy, of Newport, Vt., James and wife, Brenda, of Monmouth and Marc and wife, June, of Minot; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rejeanne Binette and husband, Gilles, of Montreal; two brothers, Robert Ouellette and wife, Kathleen, of Rochester, N.Y., and Jean Ouellette and wife, Francine, of Phippsburg; a sister-in-law, Theresa Geoffroy of Auburn; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Laliberte of Rochester, N.Y.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Florentine Pelletier, Leona Boucher and Marie Laliberte; and three brothers, Joseph Geoffroy and Renaud and Leo Ouellette.
