- A playground tower is pulled down as Mike Pelletier of the Auburn School Department stands by at the former Lake Street Elementary School in Auburn on Monday. The playground was deemed unsafe last week and Pelletier and Danny Aguilar started dismantling it Monday. “This was the No. 1 playground at one time,” Pelletier said. It was more than 26 years old. Pelletier said he was not sure if anything will go up in the space.
