1921 – 2013

VENICE, Fla. — Cecile L. Bragdon, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, at the Venice Hospice House, Venice, Fla.

She was born in St. Francis on May 6, 1921, a daughter to the late Benjamin and Catherine Morneault. She graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1939 and attained an honorary degree from Husson University. She married the love of her life, the late Meltiah E. Bragdon of Eastbrook on Feb. 8, 1941.

Cecile worked at SD Warren Paper Mill and Fairchild Semiconductor while raising her five children.

She was known for her friendly and inviting manner, exuberant joy and overall love for life. She will always be remembered for her unconditional love.

Cecile adored old classical music with Lawrence Welk, and dancing with her husband and friends brought great joy. She was constantly knitting, crocheting and painting beautiful pictures for her loved ones, as well as creating her signature quilts, her family’s favorite. She generously used her gift of hospitality and enjoyed cooking and serving others. Her friends were always busy with their gatherings and bridge club activities. She enjoyed much of her solitude time at her camp at Hancock Pond.

She has always been the prayer warrior for all of her family members.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph Morneault of Millinockett and Claude Morneault of Windham; and her sisters, Jeanne Morneault of Bangor and Angie Morneault of Bangor.
