LEWISTON — The American Creativity Association will hold its New England conference on Friday and Saturday, July 26 and 27, at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn Campus.
The conference will feature two keynote speakers and a variety of sessions by and for practitioners of the art, science, and application of creativity. The conference is open to anyone who wants to improve their creative thinking skills and learn about innovative techniques.
The registration fee for the two-day event is $225, which covers all meals and includes a lobster and wine dinner.
The conference will emphasize new skills, tools, and techniques for innovation and problem-solving, and creative thinking in business, science, education and the arts.
The theme for this year’s American Creativity Association conference is “Creativity for Sale.” Talks will highlight effective models of the creative process and will encourage participants to learn from each other.
R. Bruce Baum, Ed.D., is one of two keynote speakers. He is the author of “How to Motivate Audiences: 121 Warmups, Icebreakers, and Activities for Promoting Creative Problem Solving,” “20 Magic Tricks for the Magically Impaired,” and many others. Baum coordinates the Roswell Park Cancer Institute Humor Project and is a Certified Laughter Leader.
Also a keynote speaker, Kirpal Singh, Ph.D., is a poet, writer, and cultural critic who serves as director of Singapore Management University’s center for cultural diversity in business. He is an internationally recognized scholar whose research areas include post-colonial literature, literature and technology, and creative thinking.
