The Cary Memorial Library will host a talk on great blue herons and other wading birds, marsh birds, terns and loons at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7. Danielle D’Auria, a wildlife biologist who works in the bird group of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife, will make the presentation. D’Auria oversees the Heron Observation Network, a volunteer effort to monitor the declining heron breeding population in Maine. The Cary Memorial Library is located at 17 Old Winthrop Road, Wayne.
