Daniel Watson of Poland recently presented the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society with donations from his 5th birthday party. Watson, a student at the Poland Community School, asked for donations for the pets in lieu of birthday gifts. Party guests donated pet food, treats, cat litter and cleaning supplies to help the society, which provides a safe haven for more than 5,500 sick, homeless and abused animals in the greater Androscoggin area per year.
