LEWISTON — Christopher T. Kitchens, D.O., has been appointed to the Central Maine Medical Center medical staff. He is practicing with Family Health Care Associates in Auburn.

He holds a bachelors degree in human ecology from the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor and earned his medical degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford. As an undergraduate, he was named a Maine Institutional Development Award Network of Biomedical Research Excellence scholar and completed a National Institutes of Health fellowship in biomedical research.

Kitchens completed residency training at the Central Maine Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. He also received additional training through the Integrative Medicine in Residency Program at the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine in Tucson, Ariz.

He is certified in advanced cardiac life support, advanced trauma life support, neonatal advanced life support, basic life support and wilderness advanced life support.

He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Maine Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

He is practicing in association with family nurse practitioners Amy Bergeron, Emily B. Cashman, Dianne S. Paine and Jeri Wade, and family physicians Adam L. Duquette, D.O., Peter B.H. Elias, M.D., Michael R. Rifkin, M.D., Sarah K. Skelton, M.D., and Raymond J. Tardif, M.D. Family Health Care Associates is located at 190 Stetson Road in Auburn.
