DIXFIELD — The Police Department handled 96 complaints during the past two weeks.

Burglaries

* Two burglaries within five days were reported at 58 East Dixfield Road. Sgt. Jeff Howe said a contractor reported the first burglary on July 10 when someone broke in and stole $3,300 in tools from his construction trailer. On July 15, someone entered the home the contractor was remodeling and stole $6,000 in copper piping. Police have leads.

* On July 18 a High Street resident reported his home burglarized July 18. Someone took a Xbox 360 valued at $200.

Thefts

* On July 16 a Rollins Ridge homeowner reported the theft of a television and a chain saw, with a total value of $1,070. Police have leads.

* On July 15 a spokesman from Dirigo High School requested police assistance to recover 20 MacBookPro laptops computers from students. Howe said the school tried to get the laptops back from students for several weeks before reporting the loss to the police. Each laptop is valued at $350. He said occasionally the school requests assistance from the police to recover the computers, but he has never had so many unreturned laptops reported.

* On July 15 a Brackett Street resident reported the theft of several starter checks. Some of these checks have already been written against the account. Police have two suspects.

* On July 16 an Arsenault Drive resident reported the theft of a large, potted rose bush from her front lawn. The bush has a $50 value and has great sentimental value.

* On July 17 a Highland Avenue resident reported the theft of a window-mounted air conditioner valued at $600 from his garage.

* On July 26 a Highland Avenue resident reported the theft of 15 gallons of gasoline siphoned from his van parked in the driveway.

Accident

* A 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Douglas Duguay, 43, of Dixfield struck and killed a deer as he was driving on Common Road on July 16. The vehicle was not damaged.

Vandalism

* On July 22, a Dirigo High School spokesman reported vandalism of a storage building at Harlow Park. The door and lock were destroyed.

Arrests

* Jesse Merrill, 27, of Spring Street, Dixfield, on a charge of domestic assault on July 29, at Spring Street. He was released on $800 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Sept. 3.

* Christa Money, 24, of High Street, Dixfield, was given a summons on a charge of domestic assault at High Street on July 25. She is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Sept. 3.
