LEWISTON — The Brad Strause and Friends performance scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 1, at Fountain Park on Mill Street has been canceled.

The cancellation, according to a notice from L/A Arts, is due in part to the reorganization efforts underway at the arts organization.

In a news release, L/A Arts board Chairwoman Judy Vardamis said limited programs would continue. That includes the popular art walk program as well as local performances in the group’s Downstage space. L/A Arts is hosting two shows there: a performance of a play by local playwright Linda Britt and a theater piece created by local high school students.

“We are cutting costs while making the absolute best out of the programs we have,” Vardamis said in the statement.
