LEWISTON — Willis of Northern New England Inc. announces that Michelle A. Thomas has been promoted. Previously, she held the position of senior account manager. Her promotion adds to her responsibilities and changes her title to senior account manager and TPA support staff supervisor.

Thomas holds an insurance producer license and works in Willis’ Alternative Markets Department at its New Gloucester office. From that office, Willis offers third-party administration on workers’ compensation and liability claims, safety and loss control engineering, and claims advocacy and administration/consultation on the formation of self-insured groups for workers’ compensation coverage.

Thomas joined Willis’ predecessor, Dunlap, in 1994 as a clerical assistant and advanced through numerous roles to her current position in which she is responsible for the day-to-day management of three workers’ compensation self-insured groups. She also assists with coordination and participation in group functions, such as board of trustee meetings, general and executive safety committees and membership meetings.

Her promotion brings the added responsibility of overseeing the TPA support staff operations. In addition, she is the lead associate managing the TPA’s monthly accounting and reconciliation processes, as well as the ACTS claims management system administration.
