Paddling past Freeman’s Landing on the Androscoggin River in Leeds on Friday morning, taking part in the Source to the Sea Trek are, from left to right: Perry Risley of Bethel, Jeff Stern of Otisfield, Bill Lee of Waterville, Dave Wallace of Woolwich and Steve White of Newry. The 19-day, 170-mile journey began at the river’s headwaters on Lake Umbagog in New Hampshire on July 12, and will finish Aug. 11 in Merrymeeting Bay where the Androscoggin meets the Kennebec River before emptying into the Atlantic Ocean.
