1931 – 2013
LEWISTON — Margaret M. “Peggy” Pomerleau, 82, formerly of East Avenue, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on her birthday, Aug. 1, at Marshwood, following a brief illness.
She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 1, 1931, a daughter of the late Wallace and Clara (Hogue) Tierney.
Peggy married the love of her life, Marcel P. Pomerleau, at St. Joseph’s Church on June 30, 1951. He predeceased her in Feb. 2008.
Peggy was a homemaker not only to her children but to all she knew. She had lots of love and shared it with everyone. She was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church in Lewiston. She enjoyed playing cards, playing bingo and watching the Red Sox. She also loved spending time with family and friends.
She leaves a daughter, Mary Bailey and husband, Scott, of Westbrook; a son, Steven Pomerleau and companion, Mary Lou Shook, of Pennsylvania; a granddaughter, Jennifer Pomerleau; a special sister, Katherine Rand, and a special sister-in law, Arlene Tierney, both of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Ann Bigly; and two brothers, John and Thomas Tierney.
