HARTFORD — The Lake Anasagunticook Association will host its annual Lake Day Celebration starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Green Acres Inn and Golf Course.
Diane Ray, a director of the association, said the celebration will kick off at Hartford Beach, where families will have the opportunity to participate in canoe and kayak-related games.
The day will continue at 3 a.m. at the Green Acres Inn and Golf Course, where games and other activities will be offered.
“I know that there’s a bunch of different games set up for kids and families to play,” Ray said. “There will be croquet, horseshoes, bocce ball and maybe volleyball. There’s also going to be a monkey golf tournament, though I’m not entirely sure what that is.”
Ray said the festivities will be free and open to the public
Food will be provided at 5:30 p.m. The cost for a dinner ticket is $8 per person, $15 for a couple and $5 for children.
“There’s a little bit of everything for everybody, whether it’s pulled pork, baked beans or hot dogs,” Ray said.
A Chinese auction will be held after the dinner, with prizes offered.
“In the past, we’ve had local artisans donate arts and crafty-type things,” Ray said. “We once had someone who donated two Boston Red Sox tickets, which was amazing. We never quite know what we’ll get.”
All money raised will go toward water quality preservation, as well as other events that the association hosts.
