DURHAM — Two motorcyclists who were a part of a group of 20 to 30 bikers participating in a memorial run through Durham on Saturday were injured, one seriously, in a two-bike collision on Newell Brook Road. Both were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
Glenn Levesque, 50, of Sabattus, was listed in critical condition at CMMC with unspecified injuries, Androscoggin County Deputy Jon Guay said. A hospital spokeswoman said Saturday night that she could not update Levesque’s condition.
The second driver, Christopher Camp, 38, of Lisbon Falls, suffered nonlife-threatening road rash to his hands and legs. Neither driver was wearing a helmet, Guay said.
He said Levesque lost traction of his two-wheeler as he rounded a descending curve at the intersection of Swamp road. Camp, who was traveling behind him, was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision. Damage was estimated in excess of $10,000 each to Levesque’s 2009 Harley-Davidson and Camp’s 2013 Harley-Davidson in the 1:09 p.m. crash.
