WAYNE —   A Cary Memorial Library Bookplate Exhibit will be on display at the Williams House from Saturday, Aug. 24, through Labor Day, Sept. 2.

Bookplates and correspondence donated by Elizabeth Hyatt to the library, as well as brief excerpts about the artists and the collectors, will be on display the the Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.

The bookplates, works of art in miniature, were collected in the 1920s and 1930s from famous collectors and artists such as Woodrow Wilson, Queen Alexandra, Howard Pyle and Rockwell Kent.

The exhibit provides an unusual perspective on the lives of the rich and powerful in America in the first third of the 20th century.

The exhibit will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 24 and 26 and Aug. 31 and Sept 2, and 4 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 27, 28 and 29.
