FARMINGTON — Selectmen unanimously approved the employment of a new full-time officer for the Farmington Police Department on Tuesday night.
Police Chief Jack Peck introduced Michael Lyman to the board.
Lyman, from Skowhegan, graduated from the University of Southern Maine in May where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in political science, Peck said.
This is the second year he has served as a summer reserve officer for the Old Orchard Beach Police Department.
Lyman is expected to start with the Farmington Department in a couple weeks, Peck said.
