Grange going to Pineland Farms
NEW GLOUCESTER — Officers and members Androscoggin Pomona Grange 1 will meet Sunday, Aug. 18, at Pineland Farms for lunch and to tour the farm. Members will meet at noon at the Market and Welcome Center, 15 Farm View Drive. There is a $5 charge for the tour per person.

Community blood drive scheduled
WINTHROP — A community blood drive will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall, Route 133.

Children’s group seeking requests
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Children’s Foundation is accepting grant requests for the 2013 fiscal year.
The foundation annually awards grants to individuals and organizations whose programs directly benefit children in the community.
Some of the 2012 grant recipients were the Community Little Theater summer youth program, New Beginnings, St. Mary’s Nutrition Center and the Regional Education Treatment Center’s indoor garden project.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on Aug. 12 were as follows: first, Mary Trafton and Luke Merry; second, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; third, Jan and Vern Arey; fourth, Sue Kaluzynski and Rosemarie Goodwin; first in B, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; second, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird.
Winners of the Grand National Pairs qualifying game on Aug. 13 were: first, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; second, Nancy Farmer and Hazel Glazier; third, Jan and Vern Arey; fourth, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; fifth, Connie and Ron Reynolds; first in C, Claire Lyons and Priscilla Rooth; second, Ellie and George Wigton.
A Grand National Pairs qualifying game will be held on Monday, Aug. 19.
