- The dual-surface ice arena on Turner Street in Auburn is almost completely enclosed and, according to Mike Hebert, owner of Hebert Construction which is building the structure, the roof is completed and the structural steel on the interior is painted. “Ice surface preparation work will begin on Monday for rink one and preparations for rink two will start in a week and a half,” Hebert said. The arena, which will feature seats for 811 spectators in one rink, 200 in a second rink, a shared mezzanine between the two surfaces and will also have seven locker rooms — two for referees, four for coaches and a unisex locker room — is planned to be finished by late December.
