Ladies/Community Breakfast Wednesday

RANGELEY —   A Ladies/Community Breakfast will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the BMC Diner, Richardson Street. If anyone has special dietary needs, call in advance.

Grange is hosting ‘souper’ supper

CHESTERVILLE —  Chesterville Grange will have a “souper” supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23. There will be homemade soups, chowders, bread and desserts for adults, $5; children, $2.50. For more information, call 778-2282 or 778-5845.

Maine Guides featured in program

STRATTON —  The Dead River Area Historical Society will feature “Local Maine Guides” on Sunday, Aug. 25, hosted by Tina Cote Ryan and Mollie Ryan Reed, and possibly Tina’s husband, Marshall Ryan. Their fathers, Don Cote and Willard Ryan, were Maine Guides as well as many others in the area.

Also featured will be the full-sized mounted bear donated by Joline Leduc and shot by her husband Herb in 1979 at Tim Pond. Don Cote was the guide.

 Kennebec Land Trust annual meeting

WAYNE —  Kennebec Land Trust will hold its 25th annual meeting on Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Androscoggin Yacht Club. The meeting marks the beginning of KLT’s 25th anniversary year celebration.

The annual gathering will feature a hike and paddle, a potluck supper and cookout and a brief meeting honoring KLT land donors, Robin, Holly and Lynette Miller.

In March, the Millers donated KLT’s newest conservation property, the 60-acre Peter Miller Woodland in Vienna. The gift honors the former owner, their brother, Peter Miller.

The afternoon events will feature KLT’s new 1.3-mile trail at the 800-acre Mt. Pisgah Conservation Area and a paddle to the Perkins Woods property on Androscoggin Lake.

Thrift Shoppe holding summer sale

RANGELEY —  The Church of the Good Shepherd, 2614 Main St., will hold a Thrift Shoppe sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, and Saturday, Aug. 24.

Women’s blouses, dresses and slacks, men’s shirts, pants and all T-shirts will be 50 cents. Summer jackets, coats and shoes will be half price. Household items remain as marked. For more information, call 864-3381.
