HEBRON —  The 28th annual reunion of the Warren Family was held July 21 at the home of Jim and Rhonda Reid. It was a gathering of the descendants of F. Milton and Verlie Warren.

In attendance were 186 people from Auburn, Augusta, Bath, Buckfield, Farmington, Gorham, Greene, Hebron, Hollis, Jay, Lisbon Falls, Monmouth, Pittston, South Berwick, Sumner, Turner and Wayne. Descendants also came from Brockton, Mass.; West Bridgewater, Mass.; Radcliff, Ky.; Oberlin, Ohio; and Santa Maria, Calif.

Emily Allen Droge of California traveled the farthest. Walter Warren was the oldest member in attendance. Paige Avery Hadley, born May 7 to Gretchen and Ben Hadley, was the youngest member.

During the past year, there were two weddings, 10 births, six high school graduates and three college graduates.

Essays on the subject of family were read, written by Brandi Knapp, Ashley Warren and Dakota Warren. The three graduates were awarded a $100 scholarship for college.

After a brief business meeting, presentations included a tribute to Grampa Warren by Rhonda Reid and Regina Hutchinson; “a song sung by Marie Allen’s granddaughter; a poem written and read by Karen Mathieu; and a history given by Seth Warren of the life of ancestor Osmond Warren, who fought in the Civil War and whose uniform has been accepted by the Maine Museum in Augusta.

The annual fundraising auction was conducted by Errol Additon. In addition to homemade baked goods, there were two large handmade items. A braided rug by Esther Robinson sold for $100. A quilt by Regina Hutchinson sold for $250.

The total family count to date is 422.

Next year’s reunion will be held Sunday, July 20, at Hebron Pines RV and Golf.
