First Auburn Seniors to meet for picnic

AUBURN —  The First Auburn Seniors will meet at the Hasty Community Center for the annual Tot Lot picnic on Wednesday, Aug. 21. New Auburn Seniors will join them for hot dogs, hamburgers, card games and bingo. Doors will open at 9 a.m.

Forty-one members attended t he last meeting presided over by President Sue Patneaude. Attendance winners were June McGintey and Jeanne Adams; pot of gold, Caroline Chapman, Bob Berry and Jeanne Adams. Special drawings were won by Jeanne Adams, Jan Biron and Joan Webb.

Due to work being done on the floor of the meeting site, the Wednesday, Sept. 4, meeting will be held at the American Legion Hall, Washington Street North. There will be a basket raffle.

Church to hold annual barbecue

GRAY —  Gray Congregational Church will hold its 22nd annual chicken barbecue at 5 and 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at the church Parish House, 5 Brown St. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

The meal includes half a chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob,  homemade biscuits, cakes and pies, punch and coffee. Take-out will be available. The church is handicapped accessible.

Family Day at church in Auburn

AUBURN —  Family Day will be held in the parking lot of the Turner Street Community Church, corner of Whitney and Vernon streets, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.  Rain date will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25.

There will be a bouncy house, water balloons, air hockey, egg toss and basketball shoots. All are welcome to the free event. For more information, call 786-3988.
