AUBURN — The Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District and The Lake Auburn Watershed Protection Commission will host a Septic Social from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program Office, 24 Maple Hill Road. Both AVSWCD and LAWPC invite Lake Auburn watershed residents, municipal representatives, media staff and any interested to attend.

Included will be a special offer discount coupon for a septic tank pump out. The first 15 Lake Auburn watershed residents to register and attend the septic social will receive a $75 coupon from LAWPC to add to the discount offered by W.E. Fenderson Septic Service for a septic tank pump out.

Topics will include: the homeowner and septic system, septic systems and the lake, everything you ever wanted to know about septic systems and were afraid to ask and the care and feeding of your septic system. Weather permitting, there will be a demonstration of a septic tank pump out with tips on preparation for a pump out.

Partners making this septic social possible include Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program, W. E. Fenderson Septic Service, Maine Department of Health and Human Services and Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.

Preregistration is required. There is no cost. The event will offer light refreshments, fascinating speakers and good company.
