SEBAGO (AP) — Officials say a 32-year-old Maine man has been hospitalized after being ejected from his dirt bike motorcycle and impaled by a small tree.
The Maine Warden Service says Scott Kilton of Naples was riding with four other friends on the narrow-gauge railroad all-terrain vehicle trail system in Sebago when he struck a small stump in the trail at about 10 a.m. Sunday. Kilton was thrown from his dirt bike and landed on a small one-inch stick, which impaled his abdomen and lower back.
Authorities say Kilton was treated at the scene by Sebago emergency responders and flown by medical helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
The Warden Service says all the riders were wearing full safety gear, including helmets.
