BUCKFIELD — The Community Day Committee is calling for all veterans to join in the Labor Day Parade on Monday.
The theme this year is “Honoring Our Veterans.”
The parade starts at 10 a.m. Sept. 2 at Buckfield Junior-Senior High School and end at the Municipal Center. Lineup starts at 9 a.m. Veterans may march or ride.
The parade will also include dancers, majorettes, children on bikes, church groups, politicians and floats. There will also be firetrucks, antique cars and engines, stock cars and animals.
After the parade, people will gather at the ball field behind the Municipal Center, where there will be vendors, food and games. Attendees will also be invited to smash an old car with a hammer at the rear of the field.
Golf carts will be available to help people get up and down the steep hill behind the Municipal Center. There will be sheltered areas to get out of the sun.
