- A group of more than 20 motorcyclists, plus a few people in cars, leave L-A Harley in Lewiston Sunday morning during the Rangeley Remembrance Ride in honor of Dawn Newell, Glen Henderson, Kenneth Henderson and John Spencer Jr., all of whom perished when they drove their snowmobiles into open water on Rangeley Lake on Dec. 30, 2012. The ride, which started at Cole Farms Restaurant in Gray, ended at Moose Alley in Rangeley. Motorcyclist were asked to give $10 or a donation toward Rangeley Lakes Snowmobile Club for snowmobile safety on Rangeley Lake. “We’ve raised about $400 so far,” said one of the organizers, Paul Hodgetts from North Yarmouth. “The club is trying to get illuminated signs on the eight major trails leading to the lake, depending on how much money we can raise. It was important that the money go to snowmobile safety.”
