RUMFORD — Andrea Jean Paul Bolduc, better known as Jean Bolduc, 89, of Rumford, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Jean was a devoted husband and father. He was born on Sept. 9, 1923, in Ste. Methode, Quebec, to Joseph Remi Bolduc and Leocadie Poulin. He was one of 12 children.

On Feb. 14, 1958, he married his “pretty lady” and love of his life, Pierrette Laverdure. They lived in Rumford where they raised their family, and owned and operated Rumford Body Shop on Waldo Street for more than 40 years.

He was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, and a fourth degree Knight of Columbus. His passions were spending time with his family at the camp, fishing and boating. He had a love of life and enjoyed sharing that ideal with family and friends.

He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Pierrette; sons, Victor Bolduc and wife, Sandy, of Tucson, Ariz., and Philippe Bolduc and wife, Pat, of New Gloucester; daughter, Michele Bukoveckas and husband, Walter, of East Baldwin; three sisters, Cecile Buotte and MaryJane Poulin and husband, Norbert, of New Britain, Conn., and Lucia Turgeon of Ste. Methode, Quebec; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jean is predeceased by his parents; a son, Jean Jr.; and grandson, Pierce Bolduc.

He will be missed by many.
