FREEPORT — A downtown jewelry shop, Earrings and Company, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this summer with an open house Sept. 14 at 2 Mechanic St.

Owner Carrie McBride credits repeat customers, including hunters and fishermen, for keeping Freeport’s hidden gem open for so long. The open house will feature refreshments and freebies for all customers who visit the business during the event.

McBride has worked at the shop for nine years and has owned it for six. The shop approximately 125 product lines and provides rocking chairs for the men while their spouses shop.
