Church families sponsor breakfast

AUBURN — A pancake breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at St. Philip’s Church, Route 4. Menu will include pancakes, sausage patties, fruit cup, orange juice, coffee, milk and tea. Cost is adults, $6; age 6 to 12, $2; 5 and under, free. The event is sponsored by the family groups of St. Philip’s.

Cemetery association will meet

TURNER — The North Turner Cemetery Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the home of Beverly Murphy, Berry Road, Hartford.

District accepting teacher nominations

TURNER — Nominations for Patience W. Norman Prize for Teacher Excellence 2013-2014 are due Friday, Oct. 18, in the Superintendent’s Office, 486 Turner Center Road.

The prize, supported by the Maine Community Foundation, was established to recognize teachers in SAD 52, Greene, Leeds and Turner annually. The recipient receives a $5,000 prize.
