WINDHAM — Auditions for the Zombie America will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, and Thursday, Sept. 12,  at Schoolhouse Arts Center. Those auditioning will be asked to do cold readings from the script. No preparation necessary. Characters can vary in age. All ages over 20 may audition. No acting experience necessary. This will be the first cast ever to do this play.

The Zombie America story line is that it has been three weeks since a zombie invasion was suppressed by armed forces. Scientists have come up with an antidote for the zombie outbreak. Medication is being administered to suppress the zombie instincts in the victims.

These Zombie Americans, as they are now called, are being returned to the care of their families. They are under house arrest and cannot work or go out in public unaccompanied. Reunited, families and friends struggle to overcome new obstacles surrounding normal life.

Zombie America is rated PG-13 and offers a hilarious look at a cast of characters trying to adjust to their new circumstances.

Roles being auditioned:

Martha: 30 yrs. old. Social worker. Girlfriend to Alex. Roommates with Alex and Sheila.

Sheila: 30 yrs. old. Bartender. Girlfriend to Craig. Roommates with Alex and Martha.

Alex: 30 yrs. old. Was a teacher before becoming a zombie. Boyfriend to Martha.

Craig: 30 yrs. old. Boyfriend to Sheila. Lost all his riches to the zombie invasion.

Geoff: 30 yrs. old. Married to Tim. a zombie. Neighbors to Martha, Sheila, and Alex.

Tim: 30 yrs. old. Married to Geoff. Professional job. Neighbors to Martha, Sheila, and Alex.

Solicitors: various people/types, ages, gender.

Police people.

Mrs Martin: old lady from 3rd floor.

Doctor: Craig’s father. A scientist. A zombie
