PARIS — Michael P. Madden of Shelton, Conn., will be named police chief for the town of Paris.

Paris Town Manager Amy Bernard will ask the Board of Selectmen to confirm Madden at Monday’s meeting, according to a release from the town.

Madden serves as captain  and second-in-command for the Shelton Police Department, where he is a 28-year veteran, according to the statement.

Madden holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from St. Joseph’s College in Standish and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va.

If confirmed, Madden reportedly would begin his duties in Paris on Oct. 7.
