AUBURN — All are invited to spend a day in the orchard at Wallingford’s on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the annual Park Avenue Elementary School PTO Harvest Festival. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, at the orchard, 1240 Perkins Ridge Road.
Wallingford’s Backyard includes two corn mazes, mini-golf holes, noodle jungle and obstacle course. The Harvest Festival will offer a bounce house, bounce slide and an obstacle course. There will be pumpkin crafts, memory tiles, fairy houses, face painting and other games. There will also be food and drinks for sale.
“Last year (the) support for the event was really incredible, more than we had expected, the move to the Backyard was a big plus,” said Matt Kovacevich, event organizer. “The Wallingford’s Team was so friendly and supportive of our event and this year will be a continuation of that great relationship, we look forward to seeing you all there.”
Entry is $2.50 for a single child or $5 for a family. Children under 4 admitted free. Tickets for the bouncy rides, keepsake crafts and food are available for sale once inside.
Every penny raised is used to benefit the children of Park Avenue through PTO programming.
Apples available for picking on the day of the event include early Cortlands, McIntosh, Ginger Gold and Honeycrisp. The bakery and store will also be open.
