1934 – 2013

TOGUS — Thomas J. Buotte Jr., 79, of Haley Lane in Dixfield, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, in the hospice unit of the VA Hospital.

He was born in Mexico on May 4, 1934, a son of Nina Gaudet and Thomas J. Buotte Sr. Tom was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School. He was self-employed. Tom served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior. Tom was a member and past commander of the VFW, a member of the American Legion and served as Grand Marshall at the 2013 Memorial Day Parade.

He loved fishing, hunting, carpentry and traveling to visit his family in Alaska, Texas and Prince Edward Island.

Surviving is his companion of 28 years, Nancy C. Arsenault of Dixfield; Thomas P. Buotte of Alaska and Debbie Buotte of Rumford; Donna M. Wiggin and husband, Pete, of Texas; Lorie A. Buotte of Texas; Michele Clark and husband, John, of Clinton; sisters, Elaine Gurschick of Turner, Beverly Waugh and husband, Eugene, of Mexico, Vivian Buotte of Mexico and Lillian Kellogg and husband, Bob, of Rumford; brother, Bill Buotte of Mexico; sister-in-law, Debbie MacArthur of Prince Edward Island, Canada; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Daniel; two sisters, Colleen Buotte and Judy Woods; and three brothers, Norman, Clarence and Dennis.
