FARMINGTON — Aug. 18 was baptism by immersion-sprinkling at the Farmington Falls Union Baptist Church. The 9 a.m. worship service included Psalm 100, selected verses from Matthew 3 and the sermon titled “Building The Good Life.”

Singing of “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” from the Grace Burton “Grace’s Choice” hymnals concluded the first part of the service. At that time, folks proceeded to Crowell Pond on the Vienna Road for the baptisms and conclusion of the service.

Rev. John Tolman was assisted by Marina Galusha in the baptism by immersion of his granddaughter-in-law, Angela Whelpley. Angela then assisted with the baptism of Marina, granddaughter of church members Orin and Melissa Knowles. She also assisted the pastor with her husband, John P. Whelpley, who is Rev. John and Jane Tolman’s grandson.

Last, but not least, was little 2-year-old Lincoln John Whelpley, great-grandson of the Tolmans and son of John P. and Angela. His mom stood in the pond and held him as he was baptized by sprinkling.

Each received a Certificate of Baptism featuring the Farmington Falls Union Baptist Church photo and signed by Rev. John and Jane Tolman.
