SUMNER — A retirement social honoring longtime selectmen’s secretary Cyndy Norton will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the old Grange hall in West Sumner village.

Town leaders are urging people to attend to wish her well. There will be no formal program. Town Clerk Susan Runes asks those attending to bring finger foods such as cookies, cheese and crackers. There will be no utensils.

Norton has worked for the town for 30 years and worked in the local school system 27 years.

Norton is a native Mainer. She and her husband, Mike, live in Sumner and have two married children and two grandchildren.
