1953 – 2013

NORWAY — Charles Walton Baker, son of Charles Gould Baker of Georgetown, Mass., and Belle Y. Pelletier of York, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

Chuck was born on Feb. 23, 1953, in Boston, Mass. He grew up in Georgetown, Mass., and then in North Andover, Mass., graduating magna cum laude from Brooks School and went on to excel at M.I.T., studying higher mathematics. He worked in the computer industry as a scientific programmer.

He enjoyed cycling and bike racing. Eventually, Chuck settled in Norway, where he enjoyed his community and the potluck dinners, as well as daily hiking for exercise.

Chuck is survived by his brother, Dick Baker and his wife, Cheryl, of Underhill, Vt.; and many cousins, including Bob Sawyer of Bedford, Mass., Barbara Natalino of Bradford, Mass., and Robert F. Sawyer of Simsbury, Conn. In addition, cousins Jan Jacques of Auburn, Debbie Hurst of California, William McDonald of Rowley, Mass., Jimmy McDonald of Ipswich, Mass., Betsy Costa of Groveland, Mass., CarolAnn Farnsworth of Rowley, Mass., David McDonald of Newbury, Mass., and Bonnie Stone of Salisbury, Mass.
