LEWISTON — St. Mary’s Nutrition Center will hold a seed saving workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 208 Bates St. Bridgette Bartlett, garden education coordinator, will lead the workshop and share her expertise.

Participants will learn some of the basics of seed saving and which seeds are easiest for home gardeners to save. They will also take home a sampling of saved seeds. If participants have any seeds they’d like to trade or share with others, they should feel free to bring them.

There is a $10 fee for the workshop that can be paid upon attendance, and scholarships are available. Community Gardeners who garden with the Nutrition Center’s Lots to Gardens program can attend two workshops per growing season for free.

To sign-up, contact Bridgette at 513-3844 or [email protected].
