AUBURN — Central Maine Community College President Scott E. Knapp recently announced the following faculty appointments:

Ros Arienti will serve as an instructor in medical coding and electronic health records. Arienti earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at Boston University and a master’s degree in environmental policy and biology at Tufts University. She served previously as an adjunct instructor at CMCC. A native of Santurce, Puerto Rico, she resides in Gray.

Edward Karass will serve as an instructor in accounting. Karass is a certified government financial manager and an enrolled agent licensed to practice before the IRS. He served as Maine state comptroller for seven years and prior to that worked as director of financial and personnel services and assistant director of the Maine Department of Audit. Karass holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine and an MBA from New Hampshire College. He is a Bath native who resides in Whitefield.

Kristen Tifft will serve as an instructor in nursing. A Minot native who now makes her home in Buckfield, Tifft holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Southern Maine. She is pursuing a master’s degree in nursing at St. Joseph’s College in Standish. She has worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Central Maine Medical Center.

Karen White will serve as an instructor in early childhood education. White earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education at the University of Maine at Farmington and her master’s degree in early childhood at Wheelock College. A Portland native who lives in Gray, White worked previously at CMCC as the part-time practicum supervisor for the ECE program. She has also served as the state infant toddler specialist.
