AUBURN — “Great Decisions: Foreign Policy Discussion Group” will begin at 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Auburn Public Library, Conference Room.
The monthly discussions will be on wide-ranging and important topics concerning the future of the United States and the world. All material for this foreign policy discussion group can be picked up at the second floor desk.
The world is changing at an incredible pace, and each change brings new and unique foreign policy challenges for the United States. What did the 2011 revolution that ousted President Hosni Mubarak mean for the future of Egyptian democracy? Is the existence of Iran’s nuclear program an insurmountable obstacle? These are some of the questions to be discussed.
During the first meeting participants will explore the future of the Euro. Future topics will include Egypt, NATO, Myanmar, intervention, Iran, China in Africa and threat assessment.
The library will provide reading materials from Great Decisions, which will be available at the reference desk prior to the first meeting. These will include background information, current data and policy options for each issue.
