STRONG — A Madrid Township man escaped injury Wednesday night when he fell asleep while driving on Route 4 and his car hit a guardrail, Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Matthew Brann said Thursday.
Robert Ferro, 40, was heading north in a 2000 Subaru Legacy when it went off the right side of the road near the Farmington line, he said, according to Deputy Nicholas Zecher’s report.
The accident was reported at 7:13 p.m.
The car was totaled, Brann said.
Zecher was assisted at the scene by Deputy Kevin Hartley. NorthStar EMS ambulance and Farmington Fire Rescue Department responded. The accident was initially thought to have been in Farmington, Brann said.
