POWNAL — Bradley William Mallett Sr., 66, a resident of Pownal for 17 years and formerly of Lisbon Falls, passed away on Monday, Sept. 23.
Born in Waterville to Juliette Fortin Mallett and the late William Mallett, he graduated from Lisbon High School in 1965, then worked at Pratt and Whitney in Connecticut. In 1967, he began a career in telecommunications and relocated back to Maine in 1973 with Verizon, until his retirement in 2001.
He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. Bradley pursued new passions after retirement that included becoming a master Maine guide, a firefighter and first responder with Pownal Fire and Rescue, and a member of Durham Rod and Gun Club. Evident to all who knew him, he was an innovative and creative handyman who could truly build or fix anything.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jane Trachy Mallett; three children, Bradley William Mallett Jr. and wife, Jacki, of Summerville, S.C., Tracy Borden and husband, Tom, of Pownal and Amanda Sparling and husband, Nathaniel, of Leeds; eight grandchildren, Richard, Rachael, Ryan, William, Christopher, Tyler, Noah and Sydney; two brothers; and two sisters.
