RUMFORD — Ragged Jack will headline the events scheduled for Kaleidoscope on Thursday, Oct. 3.

The band’s lead guitar player, Cory Bonnevie, often loses himself in the moment as he pounds out rockabilly and classic rock-and-roll riffs on his vintage electric guitar.

Cory’s wife Shawnna accompanies him on the upright bass. She is known for her incredible vocals which are amazingly reminiscent of a bygone era of female crooners. If the moment is right, she may lean her instrument forward and climb onto it while she plays and sings.

Tom Hines holds it all together as the back beat of the trio. Hines is the area’s premier rock and blues drummer.

This month’s visual artists are organizing an art relay. Kris Howes of “Ink Maine” will place up to five easels for artists to start on a blank sheet and create an image. When the call is made, the artist moves to the next easel and picks up where the last artist left off.

Five images will be created by as many artists who participate, each adding their own style, taste and colors.

Howes will also be raffling off $1,000 worth of tattoo work and a bass guitar. Interested artists are asked to arrive by 6 p.m.

Kaleidoscope is River Valley’s once-a-month celebration of the arts that takes place on the first Thursday of each month from 6-9 p.m. at 49 Franklin in the Mystic Theater. There is no cover charge but donations for the artists are accepted. A cash bar and food is available for purchase. For more information, visit www.49franklin.com or call 207-369-0129.
