LEWISTON — The months after a breast cancer diagnosis are a whirlwind of activities. The doctor’s appointments, chemotherapy, surgery and diagnostic tests feel all-consuming. Suddenly the treatment is over and you’re thankful you survived, but now what?

The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders will host a panel discussion about life after breast cancer on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

Topics will be, How often to have screening tests and finding a primary care provider, by Jennifer Hazen, R.N., OCN, patient navigator; Symptoms which are important to report after treatment, Mahesh Pandey, M.D., hematologist/oncologist; Sexuality, body image and coping with changes in relationships, Maura Clark, LCSW, oncology social worker; Mind and body how they work together to effect recovery, Anne Brown, M.D., internal medicine and cancer survivor; and Healthy lifestyle changes to stay cancer free, Dorothy Guild, R.N., OCN, breast health patient navigator.

The presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Lepage Large Conference Room, 99 Campus Ave. After the presentations, there will be an opportunity for questions. Light refreshments will be served. Seating is limited. Call 777-8481 today to register.
